SHILLONG: Shortly after a delegation of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA)  met Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Opposition leader, Mukul Sangma termed their meeting with the Union Government as a mere “tamasha”.

Mukul Sangma over the phone said that  people of the state were very intelligent and they all knew what was happening

“ We all know what is happening  and what is their agenda  and this is the reason the matter of issuing work permits to Bangladeshis had came up and  all these events is a culmination of their agenda one after another,” the Leader of Opposition said  while adding that the ‘tamasha’ is being conducted at the expenditure of the state.

He said that post the formation of the BJP-led NDA Government at the centre,  it was evident that  they were trying to work on the agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which controls the entire Government

According to Sangma, it is a known fact that the BJP-led NDA Government is implementing the agenda set by RSS and they are moving ahead with their agenda despite the resentment expressed by the people of the state.

The statement came from Mukul Sangma in view of the hell-bent approach of the NDA government to go ahead with the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill despite stiff opposition of the citizens of the entire North Eastern region.
