JOWAI: West Jaintia Hills district police with the help of Village Defence Party of Priang village in the district arrested one Dawanbiang Langstang of the village on the charge of raping and murdering a minor girl on Friday.
The girl’s body was recovered from nearby bushes.
Police informed that the accused has admitted the crime and said he was under the influence of alcohol when he committed it.
A case under section 302 IPC read with Section 3(a)/4 of the POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.
