Eastern Army Commander takes stock of security scene on Myanmar border

GUWAHATI: Lieutenant General MM Naravane, the Eastern Army Commander arrived in Imphal  on Monday on a three-day visit, to review the security situation in Manipur  and also along the Indo-Myanmar border.

The Army Commander will also visit  the forward areas  along  Indo – Myanmar border and interact with the soldiers deployed at the forward posts.  He will also review the progress of various infrastructure projects being undertaken by Army and Assam Rifles units. During the visit, the Eastern Army Commander will be meeting important the civil dignitaries at Imphal.

On arrival at Tulihal Airport he was received by Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding  Spear Corps.

Lieutenant General MM Naravane was briefed on the overall security situation in Manipur. The General Officer expressed his satisfaction on the operational preparedness of the field formations and complimented the troops for ensuring peace and tranquility.
