Four killed in separate accidents

SHILLONG: As many as four people including three in Ri Bhoi district died in road mishaps in the last couple of days.
On Tuesday, a motorcycle ridden by Mail Michael Stoffers (32) met with an accident with another motorcycle (ML-04C-7335) ridden by Hajanmi Langwar (22) at RBI Junction, near St. Edmund’s School, Shillong.
In the incident, the former sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Shillong where the MO on duty declared him brought dead. Necessary formalities have been observed.
On the same day, around 7.30 am, a truck (AS-01-JC-4329) knocked down a pedestrian, Memora Dinar (26) at 15th Mile NH-6 in Ri Bhoi. The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Byrnihat where she succumbed to her injuries.
Again around 10 pm, a vehicle (number not known) fatally knocked down a pedestrian, Beltiful Kharbani (32) of Umsamlem in Ri Bhoi. After the incident, the vehicle fled away.
Earlier on January 20, a Hyundai Grand-i10 car (A/F) driven by Phyrnai Pamshong dashed against a vehicle (number not known) at Dulongnar in Ri Bhoi.
As a result, driver and other occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh for treatment where the driver succumbed to his injuries on January 22.
