GH Super Challenge concludes amidst allegations

TURA: The finals of the Garo Hills Super Challenge, a talent competition for youths was held recently in Tura. The event was organised by the Garo Hills Youth Inter Talent Organisation.

On the final day, Chokpot MLA Lazarus Sangma attended as the Chief Guest and also distributed cash prizes along with certificates to the winners.

Winners of various categories include Siamte Group from Tura (1st in Dance category), Sunny Tengban R Marak also from Tura (2nd in Singing category), Sillangdare G Momin from Rongjeng (3rd in Singing category), Sweet Brothers’ Group from Williamnagar (2nd in Dancing category) and Rahul D Sangma from Tikrikilla (3rd in Dancing category).

The grande finale was held in the wake of allegation made by several parents of participants that the organizers of the event had duped their children by cancelling the final event without any information. They had alleged that the organizers had absconded after collecting entry fees from participants.

Meanwhile, organisers have expressed thanks to MLAs of Mendipathar, Chokpot, Resubelpara, Rangsakona, Bajengdoba, North Tura, Rongara, Ampati, Salmanpara as well as Fr Binoi from Tikrikilla and the Tura DTO for helping them financially and ensuring the programme’s success.
