SHILLONG: Former leader of Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit along with a number of supporters have resigned from the primary membership of the party.
In a letter dated January 28, 2019 to acting the president of HSPDP central body, KP Pangniang, Basaiawmoit along with 18 other party functionaries decided to resign from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect.
Basaiawmoit did not cite any reason for their resignation.
He lost the 2018 general election. He also distanced himself from party activities and did not attend the HSPDP’s 50 years celebration in December last year.
