TURA: In a sensational revelation, question papers meant for the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) were leaked much prior to the schedule date and time of the examination.
Even as candidates sat for the MTET examination hoping to be appointed as LP and UP school teachers on Thursday, the leakage was revealed through an FIR filed with the Tura Police station on the same day.
The FIR was filed by Sofi Kamrul Hassan, an Advocate in the High Court of Meghalaya after photos of all the question papers meant for the examination flooded social media WhatsApp.
“The MTET Examination began today at the Tura Government College at 9:30 am. And the question papers for the said examination has been leaked by some unscrupulous persons much prior to the scheduled time and date. This will affect the chances of the honest candidates and is also a criminal offense,” Hassan said in the FIR.
“I as an Advocate am strongly against such manipulations. The concerned authorities should seriously look into the matter and take strong action against the culprits,” Hassan added.
