SHILLONG: Chief Minister and NPP national president Conrad Sangma has informed that the party’s disciplinary committee will decide on the course of action against HS Shylla who has been criticising Sangma over various issues.
Sangma told reporters here on Thursday he found it “very strange” that a seasoned and senior politician like Shylla, who is the KHADC chief executive member, would make such statements.
Shylla recently said Meghalaya “does not need a chief minister who is only a good English speaker but needs the Inner Line Permit (ILP) to prevent infiltration and to protect the people”.
However, Sangma said the statements “are baseless and do not have any real issue and that he does not want to spend his time by clarifying on his statements”.
“If he has any specific issue he can come to meet me but one should stop making such statements,” he added.
