Brumadinho: The death toll in the dam collapse in a mine in southeast Brazil has touched 121 while 226 people still remain missing in the tragedy that took place on January 25, according to reports.
Quoting local media, Anadolu Agency reported that rescue efforts continue at the iron ore mining complex which is owned by mining giant Vale SA.
Five people, mainly the engineers and geologists, have been arrested in connection with the mishap.
Vale also had a stake in the dam that collapsed in Mariana in 2015. 19 people had lost their lives in the devastating incident which also triggered an environmental crisis as toxic waste polluted neighbouring rivers before flushing out into the Atlantic Ocean. (ANI)
