SHILLONG: The long-delayed Umsning bypass has finally been completed.
An official said that barring some ongoing minor protection work, the bypass has been completed.
The work was delayed reportedly due to financial issues in the IL&FS, which is implementing the project.
With the completion of the Umsning bypass, the Umiam-Jorabat four-lane project is also now likely to be completed. The 5.6 -kilometer road is already delayed.
