NONGSTOIN: After receiving information from reliable sources on illegal transportation of coal at Pyndengei road, Nongstoin police detected one coal truck on Saturday night.
The truck bearing registration number ML 06-8756, driven by Andrias Thyrniang (39) of Diskiang village under West Khasi Hills with one helper Iohbor Puwein (18) of Nongriangkhon, was detected at Umjaru village.
The truck was seized and the accused were apprehended after which an FIR was lodged at the police station.
Further investigation is on.
