Over 2.42 lakh appear in HSSLCE examination in Assam

GUWAHATI: Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLCE) has got underway in Assam from Tuesday and is scheduled to continue till March 14 next.

The examination conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), is being held at 772 centres across the state.

Around 2,42,844 students is expected to sit for the examination this year, informed AHSEC. Out of them, 1,86,199 will be appearing in Arts stream, 18,289 will be appearing in Science stream, 37,454 will be appearing in Commerce stream and 902 will be appearing in vocational stream.

The examination schedule this year has been advanced in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

The examination schedule has been brought forward in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections. The examination is being held under CCTV surveillance and with installation of jammers in order to prevent cheating in the examination by using cellphones surreptitiously by the candidates.
