GUWAHATI: North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Assam Students’ Association in a standing committee meeting with NEHU Students’ Union and NEHU Teacher’s Association and other indigenous groups of NEHU formed a joint action committee and decided to hold a protest rally against the Citizenship Amendment Bill on the university premises in Shillong on Wednesday.
“The protest rally will be organised at Central Library, NEHU at 10.30am,” Kobid Lahon, the general secretary of NEHU Assam Students’ Association informed The Shillong Times on Tuesday.
The association has been opposing the bill, saying it would harm the interests of the people of the North East if it becomes law.
