SHILLONG: The questioning of Kolkata Police Chief, Rajeev Kumar which began in CBI office in the city finally got over on Wednesday after five days of continuous grilling.
The police chief of Kolkata was grilled in connection with the Saradha chit-fund case.
On the fifth day, Kumar’s questioning began early at around 10 am at the CBI office in Oakland and it got over by 12 noon
As per sources, the Kolkata top cop’s interrogation went on for days at a stretch as he was evading questions and at certain point of time it almost amounted to arguing.
He was accused of tampering with electronic evidences while he was heading the Special Investigating Team or (SIT) probing into the chit-fund scam at Kolkata.
Kumar and other senior police officials left for Kolkata on Wednesday evening.
The CBI sleuths had gone to interrogate Kumar at his residence in Kolkata and what followed next was a series of political drama as West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee rushed to his residence and later staged  a dharna. The CBI sleuths were even detained for hours.
Following this, the CBI had moved the Supreme Court and as per the direction of the court, Kumar was directed to appear for questioning in Shillong.
The CBI had also quizzed EX TMC MP, Kunal Ghosh for two days. During the course of his two-day interrogation, Ghosh also had hours of joint confrontational session with the Kolkata police commissioner.
