UHM to boycott LS polls under boundary dispute resolved

SHILLONG: United Hynniewtrep  Movement (UHM) has threatened to boycott the 2019 Lok Sabha Election if the state government does not address the inter-state border dispute with Assam in order to resolve it.
General secretary, Charlie J. Rani said state government should deploy police personnel in the sensitive areas and added that the state government can deploy Battalion, SOT & SF 10.
The organisation has sought an appointment with the Chief Minister Conrad  Sangma to seek his intervention in the issue that has been hanging fire for decades.
Condemning the attack of Assam police personnel on local people of Meghalaya, Rani said the state government should extend financial help to the victims of the attack.
The organisation also demanded the state government to take up the matter of releasing the arrested person by Assam police.
