Demand to deploy police personnel

SHILLONG: United Hynniewtrep  Movement (UHM) has threatened to boycott the Lok Sabha election if the state does not address the inter-state border dispute with Assam.
General secretary, Charlie J. Rani said state government should deploy police personnel such as the battalion, SOT & SF 10 in the sensitive area.
The organisation has sought an appointment with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to seek his intervention.
Condemning the attack of Assam police personnel on local people of Meghalaya, Rani said the state government should extend financial help to the victims of the attack.
The organisation also demanded the state government to take up the matter of releasing the arrested person by Assam police.
