Sawkmie asks Conrad to hold talks with Sonowal

SHILLONG: MLA and MDC of Mawlai constituency, Process T Sawkmie, who is also the opposition Chief Whip asserted that the reason behind the Umwali incident is the unresolved inter-border dispute.
In a statement issued here, he condemned the attack and urged Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to intervene into the matter which has been happening repeatedly.
“The government has assured to put up police outpost in border area but till date there is nothing,” he said.
Sawkmie also urged the chief minister to speak to his Assam counterpart, Sarbananda Sonowal.
