Former MLA rejoins Cong

SHILLONG: Former BJP leader P .W Khongjee rejoined Congress in protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill during a campaign at Laitryngew Sohra, in the presence of General Secretary, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee John F Kharshiing, in support of Donovan Wanlang, sitting MDC, and candidate of Congress for Sohra.
Khongjee left Congress before the 2018 elections to join BJP. He left BJP last October.
“During the meeting we urged NPP, UDP, HSPDP, PDF and Independents to part ways with BJP to express solidarity with the people especially with the latest announcement of Amit Shah, President BJP, that they would bring back CAB if they returned to power,” Kharshiing said.
