SHILLONG: The advocate for Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) served a legal notice to the state government on Wednesday for delay in releasing the arrears of salary since July 1, 2016 till February 28, 2017.
The legal notice was sent to Principal Secretary of Education and State Project Director of SEMAM-SSA and Director of School Education and Literacy. The advocate, K. Chisa said 11 SSA teachers from different districts did not receive any arrears despite sending constant reminders.
Chisa has asked the state government to release the arrears of salary within 15 days failing which the association will approach the court. It may be mentioned that the MSSASA had to take to the streets to demand pending salaries.
The deficit teachers met the Director of School Education on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum asking the government to clear their dues.
