TURA: The week-long Annual Sports of the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Rongkhon which began on February 18, concluded on Friday where North Tura MLA, Thomas A Sangma was the Chief Guest and Block Mission Coordinator from Selsella Block, Emellius D Sangma the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Thomas drew attention to the fact that India is a country of young people as compared to many other Asian and European countries. He said that while this was an advantage, the young generation at the same time is expected to contribute more. He pointed out that the students can become rich resources of skill and knowledge in various fields.

He appreciated the fact that Don Bosco Higher Secondary School has achieved much in the last 33 years adding, it has grown from strength to strength. He also lauded the school management for organizing efficiently the annual sports 2019.

The Guest of Honour urged the students to become competitive in their own respective fields and not to expect concession and quota. There is a tendency among tribal students to take a laid back attitude, but this will not help them in the future.

The concluding ceremony came to a close with the lowering of the sports flag by the Chief Guest.
