Damage to roads
Constantine Kharmudai lodged a complaint stating that unknown persons claiming to be contractors under M/s Reliance Jio Ltd., damaged the PWD road by erecting poles at Boyce PWD road, Don Bosco point via Shillong Commerce College towards BK Bajoria School and Hopkins PWD road without prior permission or intimation.

Accident
On February 20 around 5 am, one Bolero pick-up (ML-08F-3401) capsized at Betasing in South West Garo Hills. Two occupants sustained injuries. One of the injured occupants identified as Md. Sanwar Ali succumbed to his injuries on the way to CH Ampati, while the other was referred to GMC Guwahati. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled after the incident.

Theft
On February 20 around 12:30 pm, while Majang Ali and his family members were travelling in a vehicle, five unidentified miscreants waylaid them at Gangga Awe village in South Garo Hills. The miscreants shot at him with an air-gun and looted Rs 10,500 cash including two cell-phones. The victim sustained injuries and was taken to PHC Siju for treatment.

Extortion
On February 19 around 4:15 pm, two persons identified as Ronald Shadap (24) and Salbestar Nadun (21) arrived at a Saloon run by Nausad Ali in Thana Road, Police Bazar. The duo collected Rs 300 in the name of FKUP (Federation of Khasi United People).

Duct pipe burnt
On February 15, unknown miscreants burnt a Duct Pipe valued at Rs 57,160 belonging to M/s Reliance-Jio Infocom Ltd. at Moolamanoh near Ladrymbai in East Jaintia Hills.

Fraud
Ayan Middey lodged a complaint stating that on February 11 around 2:43 pm, he had received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a representative of ICICI Bank and asked for an OTP from the complainant for upgrading his credit card. Later, the complainant learnt that Rs 19,996 had been withdrawn from his account.
Sanjay Dhar lodged a complaint stating that on February 11, he had received an SMS on his mobile phone that Rs. 5,000 had been withdrawn from his savings account of Corporation Bank.

Cyber crime
Kishoh Tariang lodged a complaint stating that on February 5, one person identified as Zareena Mukhim has been using her daughter’s picture on her cover photo and profile picture on facebook.
