SHILLONG: Former secretary of the Dorbar Shnong of Shella Tobias Tiewdop has criticised the functioning of the Shella dorbar that met on February 18.
“In the history of Dorbar Shnong Shella, an assistant secretary does not have the right to convene a dorbar. If it is a dorbar, why not call the dorbar at Iing Dorbar (council hall),” Tiewdop told The Shillong Times.
He added that the Dorbar of Shella was held on January 29 as it was not held since April last year. He went on to allege that the Dorbar was held somewhere else instead of the Iing Dorbar.
Tiewdop informed that Johnstelin Youroi was removed as the assistant secretary during the dorbar on January 29.
“There is no executive committee in Shella but only the Dorbar,” he added.
The January 29 dorbar also elected Robert Sarubai as the assistant secretary.
It may be mentioned that on Monday, Youroi said they will hold a dorbar to elect a full-fledged secretary in the coming months.
The headman of the Dorbar Shnong Shella, Odar Ksaning, informed that new executive committee members of the dorbar will be elected.
