SHILLONG: While the  NPP has welcomed the move of the UDP to float a regional front inclusive  all the regional political parties in Meghalaya, the Opposition  Congress has termed the idea as a farce

Talking to media persons here, Congress leader, Ampareen Lyngdoh said that how could  UDP float a regional front when the party itself was a constituent of the coalition that included the BJP.

She further said that this was not the period of disillusion but a period of honesty and the UDP should come out clean on their stand

“I cannot be sharing my meal with the BJP and have arm chair dialogues with other parties,” she said.

Reacting to a query about the recent decision of the UDP to come out of NEDA and NDA, Lyngdoh said that as of today all the regional parties are under one front with the BJP.

“How can they say that the UDP have nothing to do with the BJP when they are in the government with the BJP,” the Congress leader said.

“They are saying something else and doing something else and this where I am have a problem of understanding and figuring out as to what is coming out from their mouth is true or what their hands are holding is correct, “ Lyngdoh said.

She also said that if the UDP had really walked out of NEDA and NDA, the party must show its withdrawal of support letter besides moving out of the MDA coalition which even has BJP as a partner.
