Traders’ body formed in Bajengdoba

TURA: Traders from Bajendoba in North Garo Hills recently held a meeting and formed the Bajengdoba Traders’ Association with its headquarters at Bajengdoba.

 The new body elected Arbingstone Marak as President, Vikash Momin as Vice President, Raksang Marak as Secretary, Senoram Marak as Joint Secretary, Arjunsing Marak as Accountant and Marblin Sangma as Treasurer besides 11 other executive members.

 The association was formed with a view to look after the welfare of the Arecanut traders and to protect local traders from harassment at the inter-state border market in Assam, extortion during transit at NH-51 and other routes and to prevent non-tribals traders from entering Garo Hills without valid trading licenses.
