SHILLONG: Two persons namely Welley Muksor and Briwon Pohshna, who were accused of cash-for-votes, have said the election agent of the Congress, Klinsman Lamare, lodged a false case.
In a letter to the in-charge of Ummulong police beat house in West Jaintia Hills, Muksor and Pohshna said Dame Dhar of Ummulong village and Gabbar Issback (which is a fake account) and Mera Pongrope of Wahrymbai Ummulong spread the false news on social media.
Lamare had alleged that Muksor and Pohshna offered Rs 3,000 to Pongrope to vote in favour of Charles Muksor, an independent candidate.
The two said the agenda is politically motivated “with a fabricated, crypted, edited and doctored video clipping (which is not a raw or original video)” published on social media to tarnish their reputation.
Muksor and Pohshna have requested the officer in-charge to take action against the persons involved in the case.
