1 killed, two injured in separate accidents
On February 16 around 7.30 pm, a vehicle knocked down Beteaian A Marak at Kasipara, Dalu, West Garo Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Tura, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.
On February 24 at 6.30 am, one bus (ML-08C-5161) driven by Suresh B Marak (35), met with an accident at Anugre (West Garo Hills). As a result, the driver and handyman of the bus sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Tura.

Infant’s body disposed
Pried Nongrum lodged a complaint that on February 19 around 5.30 pm, unknown persons disposed dead body of an infant near her toilet at Madanrting, Lumjingsuk, Block- A, Shillong.
Body found
On February 24, an unidentified male dead body was recovered from Lawkynthei under Rashan village, West Khasi Hills.

Burglars break into houses
On February 23, miscreants broke into the house of Patricia Kurkalang at Rngi Shyllong, Shillong and stole Rs. 15,000 cash, a cell phone, clothing and house household items.
On February 22 around 6.45 pm, ten masked miscreants went to the house of Lesita A Koch at Tangbari village, South West Garo Hills and looted Rs. 3,500 cash and gold ornaments.

Two arrested for transporting coal
On February 22 around 4.30 am, Police detained one Bolero Pick-up (AS-25DC-6113) driven by Kadam Ali, while transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Nongchram area, NH-44E (East Garo Hills). Police seized the vehicle and also arrested the driver and one occupant viz., Abul Kamal.

Violation of NGT order
On February 22 around 2.15 pm, Police detected one truck (AS-01DD-5979) while loading coal at Moodymmai area, West Jaintia Hills, with an intention to transport the same.

Vehicles stolen
On February 22 morning, miscreants stole one Mahindra Bolero (ML-08F-9058) belonging to Sally D Marak from her residential compound at Ringrey Gittim, West Garo Hills.
Rajiv Lyngdoh Mawnai lodged a complaint that on February 22 between 5 pm to 8 pm, miscreants stole his Maruti car -800 (ML-05E08139), parked at Red Hill Road, New Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

Assault
On February 19 around 2 pm, Tapan R Marak assaulted Ranila K Sangma at Gajingpara, Dekachang, North Garo Hills.
Liking Momin lodged a complaint that on February 16 around 7 pm, two persons identified as Baseng M Sangma and Sengsrang T Sangma assaulted Wither M Sangma near Sangknigre Bazar, South Garo Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Tura.

Man duped of Rs 12 lakh
Garald Lyngkhoi lodged a complaint that on February 13, he received several SMS, wherein the sender identified himself as Akash Anand and Sandip Ghosh, employees of Flipkart Company and informed the complainant has won a Tata Safari vehicle in a lucky draw conducted by the company and in order to claim the prize, he was asked to deposit money in the account number of the company. The complainant deposited money on several occasions through MRB Riangdo Branch and when the deposited amount reached Rs. 12 lakh, he realised that he was cheated.

Loan fraud
Lydia Bamon lodged a complaint that Francis Dkhar took a loan of Rs. 3 lakh from her by mortgaging his Maruti Alto-800 (ML-05Q-7986) with a promise to repay the loan within five months. However, the accused person failed to pay and that the mortgaged car too does not belonged to him. The complaint also alleged that WK Jrong had lied to the complainant by complying with the fabricated facts of the accused.

Theft
Dheeraj Singh Chouhan, Project Manager, NECCON Power and Infra Ltd., lodged a complaint that between June 28 and July 24, 2018, miscreants stole construction materials from the construction site of 132/33 KV, Chandigre, Chibinang in West Garo Hills.
