SHILLONG: The KHNAM volunteers of Wahingdoh unit on Tuesday night caught two NPP supporters for allegedly distributing money in the locality under Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah constituency.
KHNAM candidate Glenbert L Khongwir informed The Shillong Times that there were four NPP members who were involved in the distribution of money but two of them escaped. He said two persons were handed over to the police by the KHNAM volunteers.
Khongwir claimed that the party has the list of persons who took money from the NPP supporters. He expressed shock over NPP members tarnishing the image of Wahingdoh locality by resorting to unfair means to win the election.
According to KHNAM leader Adelbert Nongrum, it is a violation of the model code of conduct.
