Ambulance hits jeep but patient, kin unhurt

NONGPOH: An ambulance rammed into a jeep from behind at Mawdiangum here on Thursday afternoon but the six persons in the ambulance escaped unscathed.
Bystanders said the incident occurred when the ambulance, driven by Batskhem Nongtraw, was on its way to Guwahati ferrying patients to Guwahati Hospital. At Mawdiangum around noon, it collided with the jeep driven by Hillar Syngkli. The patient and the relatives were unhurt. Nongtraw said the ambulance was trying to overtake a truck and the jeep suddenly came in the way.
Nongpoh police sent the patient and the relatives to the civil hospital and they were released after check-up.
