College body submits memo to CM

TURA: The Williamnagar Government College Students’ Union (WGCSU) has submitted a memorandum to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma seeking infrastructural development of the college among others.

 The union which submitted the memo to the CM on Monday sought the construction of a permanent boundary wall around the campus to prevent thefts and littering by the public. The union also sought the appointment of a driver for the college bus including the appointment of a Principal and Vice Principal for the Higher Secondary level.

 The union also demanded the construction of more teachers’ quarters as well as hostel facilities for both boys and girls to provide lodging for students especially to those from the rural areas thus, decreasing the student dropout rate.

 Other demands made by the union include the introduction of the Commerce stream and the creation of post of Accountant which should be immediately filled up with a qualified candidate.
