Shillong: The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association (AMSSASTA) headed by its president L Marngar urged the government to release the pending salary of the SSA teachers which was pending since November last year till date. In a press statement, the association appeal the MDA government to release the salary as soon as possible so that the families of the SSA teachers in the state will not be affected.
It also added that even though the government has created the Corpus Fund to help during financial problems but till today the SSA teachers are still suffering.
The association also informed that there will be a General Executive Committee (GEC) on March 8 at Khasi National Durbar Hall, Mawkhar at 11 am to discuss the salary and arrear matter.

The All Garo Hills 4th Teacher’s Association delegation met Education Minister L Rymbui, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Home Minister James Sangma in Shillong on February 28.
In a press statement they said that they submitted copies of memorandum requesting to enhance their salary from Rs12,000 to Rs 20,493 per month.
It stated that the 4th teachers share the same work load as SSA teachers and the same qualifications as well.
The association urged the state government for ‘equal pay for equal work’ and for immediate enhancement of their salary.
The chief minister assured the delegation to look into the matter and try his best to address it.
