SHILLONG: Shillong Police have suspended three police personnel who were responsible for the guarding under trial prisoner (UTP) David Lyngdoh  alias Bah Jyllud who escaped from the police custody here on Wednesday.
The SP (City) Steve Rynjah said that the three personnel were suspended for dereliction of duty
It may be mentioned that the infamous ‘massage man’, better known as ‘Bah Jyllud’, escaped from the washroom of the under trial prisoners (UTP) hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office when he was brought from Nongpoh jail to be produced in a Shillong court in an old case on Wednesday.
Rynjah said that the police were following up the matter and he would be arrested.
He escaped through the window of the washroom of the under trial prisoners (UTP) hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.”
It was not the first time that Lyngdoh, who goes by different names, was caught. Though had been caught in the police net several times, he managed to escape. There are molestation and theft cases registered against him. As per records, Lyngdoh, also known as ‘Phantom’, was arrested in 2012 for the third time on charges of burglaries and bike theft cases.
Again, in 2017, two FIRs were filed against him for breaking into a house in Madanrting and stealing a cell phone and wallet. He was also caught in July 2017 from Umdihar Nongpoh only to escape again.
He was re-arrested from Laitumkhrah in August, 2017
