HC stays order to administer Majai

SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya on Wednesday kept in abeyance the KHADC order of January 22 to take over the administration of the Majai area under Sohra Syiemship.
The division bench comprising Justice SR Sen and Justice HS Thangkhiew heard the case.
Earlier, the acting chief and myntris of Sohra Syiemship had filed a petition before the Meghalaya High Court challenging the appointment of an administrator for Majai after having appointed an acting chief and challenging certain provisions of the appointment.
