EAC official meets Guv
Air Marshal RD Mathur called on Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy at Rajbhavan on Thursday after assuming command of Eastern Air Command, Shillong. During the meeting, Mathur briefed the Governor on the various operational and welfare activities of the IAF in the region.
International Women’s Day
Meghandini Mahila Samiti, Shillong in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations will observe International Women’s Day at Jail Road, in the city on Friday. Group discussions including awareness on social assistance schemes for women and cultural programmes will be held.
Foundation Day
The Assam Sonatan Dharma Sabha, Laitumkhrah, will observe its 50th foundation day on March 13. Puja rituals will start from 9am onwards followed by Yougga and Prasad distribution. All are invited to attend the programme.
Gratitude
The central executive council of the East Jaintia National Council (EJNC) expressed its gratitude to Social Welfare minister Sambormi Lyngdoh for including the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) scheme in the district. The organisation also said that many students will now be able to benefit from the scheme.
