NONGPOH: It is indeed a great blessing to the people of five villages under Umsning constituency when the local legislator, Jason Sawkmie Mawlong on Saturday fulfilled their long pending dreams of having their own ambulance into a reality.

The five villages which will benefit from this ambulance include, Sumer Saw Nomber, Umtham, Byrwa, Umramblei and Lawbyrwa.

The ambulance was set on the roll by legislator of Umsning constituency during a function held at Sumer Saw Nomber. Headmen of various villages which include Rishan Diengdoh, K Shylla, PK Thiang and others attended the programme beside the local populace at large.

Village leaders during their speech lauded the generous contributions of the MLA while saying that they had been pursuing this issue for many years now, but the past representative turned a deaf ear to their plight. They expressed their happiness that their dreams had now become a reality because of the current legislator who was concerned for the people unlike the past representative.

The local legislator of Umsning Jason Sawkmie Mawlong while delivering his speech said that this is all possible because of the unity of the village leaders, the people and the representatives. He urged them to properly utilize the ambulance for the purpose it was meant and also maintain it properly so that the people in need will get benefit accordingly.

Meanwhile on the same day, Jason Sawkmie Mawlong also donated two water boats at Phrut Dak Lake in Rongmesek village, one of the popular tourist destinations in Ri Bhoi District in order to attract visitors and tourist as well as to boost tourism in the area.
