Nongthymmai win First Division Cricket League title

SHILLONG: Nongthymmai SCC on Friday lifted the SCA First Division Cricket League 2019 trophy defeating Khalsa Warriors by five wickets at the SCA ground, Polo. Khalsa won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 104 before being dismissed in 27.4 overs. Sandeep Singh scored exactly 50 runs while the rest of the batters floundered. Reuben Najiar (4 wickets) and Ranjit Rai (2 wickets) were the most successful bowlers for Nongthymmai. In reply, Nongthymmai reached the target in 19.5 overs losing 5 wickets. Bijay Deb (34 runs) and Rohit Chettri (17 runs) contributed the most runs with the bat. Sawan Singh and Ravi Singh were the best performers for Khalsa with the ball claiming two wickets apiece. Both teams have qualified for the next season’s Super Division League. The Super Division League 2019 will commence from Saturday, an SCA release said on Friday.
