’SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Mawlai Circle, drove away 20 alleged Bangladeshis from Assam engaged in different construction sites on NEHU campus in Mawlai during its Sier Lapalang Operation (SLO) that began on Monday.
In a statement issued here, the general secretary of HYC Mawlai Circle, Banshan Lyngdoh Mawnai, has warned outsiders without any proper documents.
It said it will intensify its SLO in Mawlai. SLO is carried out by the pressure group to check illegal influx in the state.
It has urged the MDA government to implement the Inner Liner Permit (ILP) which has been its main demand since the regime of the previous MUA government.
