Fund availability will determine teachers’ salary

SHILLONG: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said the salary of SSA teachers will be released immediately after receipt of fund from the government.
Replying to a supplementary query raised by Congress MLA Azad Zaman, Rymbui said the salary of the teachers is pending for 8 months, 2016-17.
In the written reply, the Education minister said the release of salaries in time depends on fund availability.
Lone Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) Adelbert Nongrum enquired on the cause and reason in the delay of payment of salary, Rymbui said it is due to non-receipt of funds from the Centre.
On the other hand, Zaman said only English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science is received by students while others books have not been supplied. Rymbui said there are 4 books for LP and 5 for UP and added there is no information if the books are received or not but will look into it.
On the delay in the supply of free text books of SSA under Selsella Education Block, Rymbui in the circulated reply said there was slight delay in supplying books due to transportation bottleneck.
