SHILLONG: Home Minister James Sangma said on Thursday the vacant posts in SF-10 and armed and unarmed branches will be filled after the Lok Sabha elections. Sangma was replying to a supplementary question raised by Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem on the timeframe given by the department for the posts to be filled.
Sangma said the number of candidates who joined SF-10 and the two branches is 131 and 220, respectively.
The number of candidates who did not join SF-10 and the two branches is 65 and 54, respectively, the minister informed.
“The remaining candidates have not joined and the department is waiting for them to come forward and report… the department has given enough time to report. The last date was February 18-22,” Sangma told the House.
He added that the posts will be filled after the elections.
