NEW DELHI: Along with the Tura and Shillong Lok Sabha seats, the bypoll for the Selsella assembly seat promises to be an interesting contest with the regional parties and Congress pitting their candidates.
The Congress has nominated June Eliana R Marak, the widow of former minister, Clement Marak, for the important seat.
The UDP has already announced the name of former Cabinet minister Sayeedullah Nongrum for the seat. It is not clear if other regional political parties will field candidates too.
