SHILLONG: The central leadership of the Seng Kur Warjri or the Warjri Clan Organisation on Saturday visited the Pyndeng Nongbri village and formed a unit bifurcated from the Mairang unit to expand its activities.
Few of the clan elders delivered speeches on the general welfare of the clan and to avoid any undue involvement in politics and religion. Three meritorious students were felicitated for their excellence in studies in the HSSLC and SSLC examinations last year.
A statement from the organisation said the new unit was formed “to expand its clan activities to every nook and corner of the Khasi and Jaintia Hills and to share the responsibilities with clan elders of various units”.
