SHILLONG: A Khasi news website, Ïikhmih, was launch by Pa’iem Ainam Manik Syiem on Monday at a function held at Khasi National Dorbar Hall.
Speaking at the function, Syiem said the media play an important role as one of the pillars of democracy. He hoped that the online news website will grow.
General secretary of Shillong Press Club Powell Sohkhlet said the news website should disseminate reliable news for public consumption.
Managing director of the website Khiensing Mawkon said the idea behind the website is to disseminate news as early as possible so that the public are kept aware of the important happenings.
