Kidnapped minor rescued in Assam

JOWAI: A seven-year-old boy, who was kidnapped by this stepfather two days back, was rescued in Assam on Wednesday.
The child, identified as Aryan Lyngdoh, son of Aisi Lyngdoh of Dongshiwiat locality in Nartiang, was kidnapped and taken to Assam while he was on his way to school on Monday morning. The kidnapper was identified as Salammad Ali, a resident of Laba-Basti under Banskadi Police Investigation Centre in Assam.
According to police sources, the boy’s mother lodged a complaint with Nartiang police. With the help of the Jowai police team, the boy was rescued unharmed but the accused escaped. The mother alleged that the stepfather committed the crime and the police took immediate action and sent a team to Assam.
The boy was brought back from Assam to Jowai and after medical examination was handed over to his mother.
