Unhygienic market place: Anti-graft body

SHILLONG: The Anti Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) conducted a cleanliness drive in Chibinang Market, West Garo Hills.
The drive was headed by president of ACHDO Ishraful Hoque and coordinators Jahingir Ali, Bhishal Gosh, Bashidur Islam, Habibul Islam, Mizanur Islam, Jahidur Islam, Aminur Islam, Raj khan and others.
The market was reported to lack a public toilet and dedicated dustbins. Garbage and waste materials were directly discharged into river Rangai.
The ACHDO urged the government to take serious interest in this matter. They demanded for a public toilet and allocation of dustbins in the area and to take stern actions on the garbage dumpers and polluters of river Rangai.
Moreover, the organisation appealed to handover administration authority of the market from the committee, to better the market’s present condition
