SHILLONG: The Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress and former Cabinet minister, Deborah Marak, has expressed confidence that the Congress will win both the seats in Meghalaya due to the hard work of the mahilas.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Marak, who is also the in-charge of Assam, said that mahilas are very active on the ground and they are working all over the state to ensure that Congress candidates win the elections.
According to Marak, the mahilas will play a very important role in the upcoming elections as the vote share of women in the country is 47 per cent and she has personally seen that the Mahila Congress workers are putting their best foot forward to see that the Congress wins the maximum seats in Meghalaya and other Northeastern states.
She also informed that as the in-charge, she has to cover more than 30 districts in Assam for campaigning for the party.
