St Edmund’s College organises 2-day science mela

SHILLONG: St Edmund’s College organised a two-day science mela titled ‘Ed Scientia 2019’, on Friday, which is open to all between 10 am to 3.30 pm.
The programme was thematised on ‘Innovation: a means to strengthen science’ and hosted by Professor B Manners.
Professor RH Duncan Lyngdoh inaugurated the mela, lauded the efforts of the college and encouraged the students. In his speech, he also explained the evolution of science and strength and war as the primary manoeuvring force that ascended to the age of wisdom and knowledge. The vote of thanks was delivered by DR Choudhury.
Brother Simon Coelho said that human beings require spirituality as well as science to create a better world. He admired Professor Lyngdoh calling him a knowledgeable man of science and music.
Principal Sylvanus Lamare mentioned the importance of science and advised the participants to innovate and use their creations for the betterment of society.
Besides, quiz and film show on science, photography exhibition and debate, painting, art and essay competition were held.
