Filing of nominations ends today

SHILLONG: Congress’s Mukul Sangma and BJP’s Sanbor Shullai and Rikman G Momin will be among other candidates to bring the curtains down on the filing of nominations for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state on Monday.

The elections for the two seats of Shillong and Tura will be held on April 11, the first of the over a month-long seven-phase polling across the country that will end on May 19.
For the Shillong Lok Sabha seat, Congress candidate Vincent Pala, UDP’s Jemino Mawthoh, who is also the MDA’s consensus candidate, KHNAM candidate THS Bonney and Independent Samuel Hashah have already filed their nominations. For the Tura seat, NPP’s Agatha Sangma has also filed her nomination.
Sanbor Shullai, who is also the South Shillong MLA, will file his papers for Shillong while Rikman G Momin and Mukul Sangma will file theirs for Tura on Monday.
