Clarification
Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor has informed that NCC will not participate as volunteers to help disabled voters during the polls as appeared in news item Now, Voter Awareness for Youths at Cafes. He said that NSS and NYK are very proactive and are cooperating extensively.

Condolence
Members of the Gorkha Secondary School Alumni, Upper Shillong in its meeting held on March 24 observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to late Mathew Palakel, assistant teacher, who retired in 1991 and passed away at Pune on March 21. They also sent a condolence message to the bereaved family.

Office bearers
The Meghalaya Koch Students Union in an emergent meeting held at Ghasura, Amapati on March 24, elected its new office bearers for a period of 3 years. Bhogodev Koch was elected as president while Hitangshu Koch and Sravan Koch as vice-presidents, the general secretary is Jewel Koch besides executive members.

MUPSTA meet
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association state level will hold its central executive committee meeting at New Hope Restaurant in Barik, Shillong at 11 am on Saturday. The association has urged all the office bearers and executive members to attend the meeting.
