MLCU to release ST editor’s book

SHILLONG: Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) will release its first ever in-house published book titled Waiting for an Equal World: Gender in India’s Northeast written by Padma Shri Patricia Mukhim and the editor of The Shillong Times on March 30 at Royal Heritage Club, Shillong.
Samuel Kharkongor, Media and Communication Executive, Martin Luther Christian University said the book will be released by Dr. Govind Kelkar, Senior Adviser, Landesa, Seattle, USA & New Delhi.
The release will be followed by a panel discussion on “Unlearning Gender Roles: Striving towards an equal society”.
The artworks of Careen J. Langstieh, a renowned international artist of the region who provided the cover art for the book will also be exhibited.
The book is an anthology of Mukhim’s articles and editorials written in newspapers, magazines and papers presented at academic and professional meetings.
