Meghalaya Crime Update

Non-payment
Anuj Kumar Gogoi of Godrej Building, Tata Motors Finance Ltd, Ulubari, Ghy, lodged a complaint at Laban PS that Gaurav Singh Rathore took a loan of Rs 82,32,000 for purchasing a commercial vehicle on behalf of M/s Pragati Resource Pvt Ltd, but failed to repay the loan in monthly installments.
Lambor Singh Nongrum lodged a complaint on March 29 that Terrence W Warjri took Rs 22,74,000 from him with a promise of providing him with a job at Consad Venture Pvt. Ltd. However, the money has not been returned to him till date.

Coal trucks seized
CP Mawkon, MCS, EAC, West Khasi Hills informed Nongstoin police station that on March 28, some coal-laden trucks were seen at Nongpathar in Pyndengrei village, West Khasi Hills.
Acting on the tip-off, around 5:30 pm, police detected and successfully seized those two trucks (ML-05J-0873 and ML-06-8657).
However, the drivers were nowhere to be found.

Assault
Salgrik G Momin lodged a complaint that on March 27 around 7 pm, Safdan Mia of Thakuranbari village, South West Garo Hills, along with his associates, went to the house of the former and attempted to strangle him with a cable wire.
The victim was assaulted by the same men two hours after the first assault.

Theft
Letwin Sangma, Nokma of Damit A’pal village, North Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on March 25 around 5 pm, he detected some miscreants while felling trees and stole the same from his A’king land. Later, two of the accused were identified as Melsit Shira and Gandi Shira.
