SHILLONG: The renovation project for the washing area at Mawrang Mawpyrshong was inaugurated on Saturday by Architect and Proprietor of Home Work Group Designs, Pohkseh, Matthew Umdor.
The project was undertaken by the Mawpyrshong Dorbar in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong (RCOCS).
The inauguration was held in the presence of president Judita Syiemlieh, secretary Antony Warnongbri and club members of RCOCS along with representatives of Mawpyrshong Dorbar and Shillong Social Service and residents of the area.
In his address to the gathering, Umdor lauded the noble gesture of the RCOCS and emphasised on the importance of maintaining the washing area.
Others who spoke include Mawpyrshong Dorbar secretary Hindno Marbaniang, Kynpham Lawai, Gideon Kharmawphlang and Ivy from the Social Service Centre, Sordar Hamdren Lawai and Philaieid Lawai.
